It has been more than half a year since I started this website. At the time, I wanted to tell my story, but I didn't know where or how to begin. And so, I procrastinated. I guess part of me didn't want to relive the past since it was very painful. I mean, all of a sudden, my life changed. I was no longer a competitive figure skater anymore. All the 4am wake up time, and hours of training, and sweat, and falling hard on ice, and muscle and joint pain, and sacrifice were all for nothing. I had dreams of wanting to go all the way. I had the form, grace, and support to compete internationally. Unfortunately, I didn't have the neuro-physiology to withstand the centripidal force when spinning at high speed. Each rotational jump was like getting punched in the head repeatedly. And now, I am confined to a wheelchair after a fall which accelerated the progression of my condition, Functional Neurological Dysfunction. I guess I really didn't want to relive it. But time, it numbs the pain and agony of loss with new opportunities.
